Orient Express Hotels wanted to ensure that its past and present guests were aware of its full portfolio of highly prestigious hotels worldwide. Before our involvement, the company only used traditional above-the-line advertising to achieve this - and were naturally looking for ways to make their marketing spend a great deal more effective.

We created a unique international database of 120,000 past guests segmented by potential spend, as well as a database of trade contacts. We then alerted them to the full product range via a number of carefully chosen media. These included a regular, high quality magazine, a series of invites to special promotional events and arrange of CDs and videos that served as an appetising introduction for clients and as useful point of sale tools for agents.

Most importantly, we mailed the customer database with a series of promotional offers at various Orient-Express hotels from Venice to New Orleans, which earned an impressive 12%average booking rate direct from the mailings.
